I use the Soyabella to make soy milk. It is easy to use but a little bit tricky to get the cup with the soy beans in it attached to the powerhead. You have to wiggle the blending mechanism to move it down through the soy beans. Then you have to be pretty careful that you have it firmly attached. This is not rocket science and it’s not terribly difficult, but it is why I give this device four stars instead of five stars. On the other hand, it does make really good soy milk and it is so nice to be able to stop buying all those boxes that have to be disposed of and also to be able to drink milk that you know is just soy milk and doesn’t have any additives. It is quick and simple to make soy milk with this. My only two little quarrels are: 1) it would be even better if the interior of the blade attachment were stainless steel so the milk never contacted plastic and 2) it takes some care to avoid getting the electrical parts wet when cleaning it--though I do appreciate the little brush and green scrubby they provide for cleaning. Still, so much easier than using pots and a blender, and the soy milk is delicious. (Add a pinch of salt to remove the "beany" flavor.) I did grind coffee in it once as well, and that was also easy. Only had it a few months and can't speak to its durability, but so far so good.UPDATE APRIL 2022:I definitely don't regret this purchase! I did have a minor incident where the screen wasn't locked securely in place (my fault) and came off during the grinding process. That action caused the blades to poke a hole through my screen. Since this unit comes with 2 screens (one for nut and one for rice milk) I just started using the rice milk screen to make my nut milk and honestly, I don't see the difference. I still need to buy the extra screen to have on hand, but I believe I have to do this through the manufacturer; extra screens are not sold on Amazon (as of this writing.)This is STILL a wonderful purchase for me. It's sturdy, easy to operate, simple to clean, and will save me hundreds of dollars a year, with an extra bonus of not having to throw away hundreds of wax containers a year.ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM SEPTEMBER 2021:Pros:* Easy to clean. Not sure why some of these reviews talk about it being hard to clean. Very simple, even the filter.* Easy to use. I make oat milk and I use oat groats to do it. Rolled oats made a slimy mess for me. I use 1 cup of oat groats, fill the water to the first fill line inside the carafe, press MILL 6 times (it grinds for a few seconds then stops. I repeat this process 6 times for thicker milk), then add 1 teaspoon of pink salt and 1/2 teaspoon of stevia, and sometimes I'll also add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Then voila! We have fresh oat milk everyday in 2 minutes.Cons:* one batch makes just a little over a 1/2 gallon. You have to make 2 batches if you go through it quicker, but it's not that much more time or effort to do so.* this may seem silly but the MILK and the MILL button are right next to each other and to make nut milk, you have to use the MILL button. I haven't made anything with the MILK button so not even sure what that does. I only mention this because it was confusing in the vague instructions, and MILK and MILL or similar words with (apparently) two different functions. It would be easy to accidentally press the wrong button.* which leads me to the last con which is poor instructions. The instructions themselves aren't horrible, but there's no recipe or anything inside to use as a guideline. I created my recipe through trial and error. It's a great purchase. Has saved me a ton of money from having to buy oat milk at the store, and I'm no longer throwing out oat milk containers. I've used it every day for 3 months and have not had any issues. Very happy with my choice in nut milk makers.Unbelievable how easy & fast it makes nut milks & soy milk. Not gritty, just smooth & fresh & tasty! It’s a fair amount that can be produced each time. I love how the design of the strainer cups & the plastic cup fit so that they can’t fall over. I have to admit it took me as long to clean the components as it did to make the milk! But it is still worth it! I haven’t used it long enough to see if it will actually save money. But my main reason to buy this was so that I had no carton or jugs to recycle!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves nut & soy milk!ok...first 24 hours and i made 1/2 gallon of almond milk and a cauliflower, broccoli soup; works like a charm; well built; great design; i need richer almond milk but thats about recipe; the soup function is gonna be over the top i can forsee....its early yet but i have no regretsMade one batch of soy milk in the machine. It was simple, fast, and tasty. Went to turn it on a few days later and make a 2nd batch and none of the buttons work. Just keeps blinking red and beeps. Won’t even mill contents. Getting a replacement and hoping I won’t have issues with it.Not so easy to clean up and does alloy fines through the screen cupThis is probably the best thing to come in my life in a long time. I am a big soymilk drinker. I was getting depressed seeing all those unrecyclable TetraPaks going to the garbage in my home... And a friend suggested I get myself a soymilk maker.Since I have this machine, I make soymilk almost everyday. It took a while to master a recipe good enough for my tastebuds, but I eventually managed it: ½ cup soybeans and 1 tbsp of peanuts soaked in boiled water overnight, 4 cups of water, and 2 tbsp of maple syrup added once the milk is bottled. Before bottling, I cook the milk for 30 minutes in my Instant Pot, because I find the taste of beans disappear when I do that.I make raw hazelnut milk for my coffee and walnut milk for the kids' cereals two or three times a week. The filter in the Soyabella is not as fine as a nutmilk bag, so I have gotten into the habit of pouring my milk through my bag when I transfer it from the Soyabella to an Instant Pot or a bottle. The only con of the Soyabella is the cleaning up of the filter. It has very tiny pores and sometimes, if I wait one or two minutes too many, I have difficulty removing all the residu from my soybeans or nuts. This machine will pay for itself very soon. I have owned it for about a month and, just with the soymilk, I have already saved more than 20$.The first thing to mention is this product comes with a 3-pin plug and no adaptor to use in the UK. The seller needs to ensure people are aware of this pre- purchase, because there are few things more irritating than the arrival of a new purchase you can't use. I had to drive to Maplin to pick up an appropriate adaptor. The delivery was also slower than expected. That aside, the product is excellent. We've used it to make almond milk, which it does with ease in seconds producing a wonderfully creamy milk packed with nutritional goodness. I am using this Soymilk Maker for more than 1 year. It is working perfectly!Easy to use and to wash! This machine, enables me to make nut milk quickly and efficiently. Very easy cleaning the parts.
