I loved this book. I knew of the history of the donation given by the Choctaw people to the people of Ireland during the potato famine. I read an article in my local newspaper about the author and her story, so I bought the book. It's a beautiful book, well written and a really good read. I loved how the author intermingled the two stories and the different generations. The descriptions of the hunger and desolation of the Irish people during the famine were excellent and brought the reader right there with them. I can highly recommend this book and will read more from this author. It's a brilliant first book.
