The lovely etching on this is very faint, but a nice touch. I make a LOT of pizza for a home cook, its a fascination for me and I wanted something easier to handle for going from the grill to the table. This fits that bill, but the pressed bamboo is splitting about 3 inches along the edge, about 1/4" wideI noticed it after the first washing and the split is growing more after just 3 uses.My handling a wooden board:Yes I use cutting board, food grade mineral oil ALL of my wooden boards, nice thick ones and less expensive options alike.No, I do NOT let water stand on them. I wash quickly and dry immediately.I will likely cleanly remove the failing strip on a table saw and sand that edges smooth, that's just me. That said, I think the cut design allows the wood to get too thin with the grain on 2 sides. YMMV.Just what I expected. Great product from small outside pizza ovenIt is just a little to thick for my liking. It doesn’t scoop as easily if it were thinner. Otherwise, it is a nice product.Lite weight, nice for serving hot pizza. Decoration gives it attractive character as well. Good value for the price. I may order a other one.I got a set of 4 of these to use as peels and plates when we have people over for a pizza party. So far I have only used 1 of them, but I made my pizzas on it, used it to launch the pizzas into the pizza oven, and then cut the pizzas up and served them on it. (It was just 2 of us, so 1 board was sufficient.) It worked beautifully for all purposes. I didn't even see any marks on the surface from cutting the pizzas. I did not submerge the board in water, as it is real bamboo and I did not want to risk warping since they are really nice boards that I'd like to be able to use for a long time...but a damp cloth cleaned it up nicely. The wood is thick in the center, tapered along the edge on one side to make for an effective launch peel. I do feel, however, that it is too thick to try to remove your pizza from the oven with it. I used a turning peel to remove and place the pizza back onto this peel for serving. I am very pleased with this purchase and I feel I can use them for guests, now that I have test driven one! ??7/31/22 More than a year later and all 4 peels are holding up like iron! No warps, and they look almost like brand new after many, many pizzas! My pizza cutter barely makes a mark! So glad I made this choice because they seem like a long term item!This peel is actually pretty nice and is perfect for cutting up a cooked pizza. It didn't have enough depth to launch a 12 in pizza though. If you are not careful the pizza can flop over the back side during launch.There is nothing to dislike!Daughter liked it, holding up wellI bought this peel to replace the stainless steel one I had that the dough kept sticking to. This one holds the flour much better and allows the dough to slide off easily. There is a nice taper around the outside edge that allows you to slide under the pizza to pick it up. The lettering and decoration adds a nice touch.We use these peels every week! We'll built board with a great design! We love giving a peel to each guest so they can learn to toss their own dough and build their own pizza! The tapered edge makes it easy to launch the pizza into the oven. A quick wipe and it becomes a unique serving plate! Less dishes = minimal clean up!Purchased for my husband, who excels at creating pizza! He was very pleased with it.This is my second cutting board like this that I've ordered and I love it. Great display piece too. Came earlier than expected too!This peel is fantastic!
