I did not like the fact that the photo of the mr coffee maker wasshown with the stainless steel trim covering the entire coffee maker unit, but the coffee maker which I was sent only covered part of the unit. What can you do about this fact? Can I still return the coffee maker or receive a rebate ? I'm very pissed off and demand action! Send me an email concerning this matter!Great coffee makerLooks good, intuitive operation/programming, but it's hard to get a rich cup of coffee. This coffee maker has a "strong" setting which slows the hot water flow to increase steep time. Here's the thing, the water spout is just a single stream spout; because of this not all the coffee gets steeped. I use good, whole bean coffee and grind right before I brew, plus I use a large volume of coffee. Regardless, the coffee maker struggles to make rich coffee. It comes with a water fliter that helps to disperse the water evenly, but after a few uses it clogs a bit and water ends up leaking past the edge seam rather than flowing through the filter membrane , resulting in a, for lack of a better term, point loading of water on the grinds. This leads to weaker coffee because all the grinds are not steeped. I had a previous gen Mr Coffee maker model and the spout was a wide fan (like a shower head) and it made a better cup of coffee. Short and long, it's ok...could be better if the hot water was dispersed over the grinds or flow out of the basket was slowed to increase steep time.I bought this coffee maker based on other customer reviews, its price and for the features it had. I've only been using it for a week, but so far, so good. Pros: We have hard water (and a softener that sometimes makes tap water taste off) so that water filter has come in handy. Compared to other comparable coffee makers we've used, this one has the best taste. The water is easy to fill. I tend to be clumsy and rush, I haven't had any spillage yet. There are a few cons though, and these are strictly personal preference. The clock and buttons are not backlit at all. The only things that light up are the indicator lights, telling me things like the delay brew is set and the strength selected. As indicated, the shut-off timer is two hours. My last coffee maker had a 4 hour timer and we've gotten spoiled on that.Overall, I am quite pleased with this purchase. Time will tell how durable this coffeemaker is.This is a nice coffee pot. We purchase two coffee pots before this that we returned because we did not like the coffee. This coffee pot has performed as expected. I should have bought the Mr. Coffee first. The coffee is very hot. It does not heat it so much that it tastes bitter. The lettering near the buttons on chrome is very hard for these 50 year old eyes to read. The clock should be lit. The clock has black LCD numbers which are hard to read in low light. The carafe is easy to pour without spilling. The design of the brewer makes it easy to use once you know which buttons to push. I would probably buy it again. I will certainly buy Mr. Coffee again.I've had this for about 6 months. It's a good value, and it works well. As other reviewers have noted, it makes the coffee at a perfect temperature, but the warmer is strong and it does tend to keep the coffee a little too hot. Most importantly, there are a lot of reviews on here that mention the plastic taste, and I'm guessing that's because the reviewers haven't really broken in the coffee maker as needed. You need to go through the break-in process AT LEAST 6 TIMES. After that, you're golden. It's not going to perform like a $3,000 espresso machine or even a $200 coffee maker. But I'm happy with the unit - it's a good value, it looks good on the counter, it makes a good cup of coffee, and I'd absolutely buy it again.I previously reviewed the Mr. Coffee JWX39-12 in January 2014 (I think). I am still purchasing this coffee maker as I have found it still makes the best coffee & is as reliability, if not better, than the more expensive machines. Please note my reliability" scale is now based on the fact that I know this machine will begin to malfunction, in some way, 1.5 to 2 yrs after purchase. For its price (~$40 - $45), I could live with that as I experienced the same or less life expectancy with more expensive coffee makers.Great coffee maker! This is my second one. Had my first for over 10 years. It never broke but figured it was time for a new one. Amazing tasting coffee. Looks great and love the newer all stainless steel look. Everyone who comes into my kitchen comments on it.I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because compared to my old original, the newer one has inferior parts such as a flimsier plastic top and hinges. I don't expect it to last 10 years like my old one, which was a little more solidly constructed...but everything today is made cheaper. Still does the job and makes excellent coffee. Will buy again if/when this one need replacing.
