I’m completely satisfied with this slicing guide. It’s sturdy & well constructed of bamboo; is stable in use; allows cutting multiple thick (or thin) slices without repositioning the loaf; has a crumb-catcher; and is easy to clean. It easily folds up for compact storage. And because I already own a high-quality bread knife, I appreciate that I wasn’t forced to pay for a bundled (cheap, low-quality) serrated knife that I would then throw away.The first time I used this, it worked as expected. The second time, the sides came off, and I almost lost the springs. Also, since it fell apart, I don't seem to get consistent slices.When it was together, it was easy to use. Select the thickness of the slice by positioning the board, hold the bread against the board and one side, and use a long knife to cut several slices of the chosen thickness. Remove those slices, move the loaf, and repeat. Since it broke, I don't believe that the sides are staying parallel. At any rate, it does not seem that the results that I am getting are as consistent.UPDATE: The seller contacted me about this, and in less than one day has ordered a replacement. I will see how the replacement does, but I increased my rating from two to four stars based on the customer service..Works for what we needed it too. The springs in the cut guide did fall out as one of the sides is just a hair to short.This handy bamboo slicer makes cutting my homemade breads easy. Minimal 1,3cm sind drin - für mich ist das keine dünne Scheibe.Ich habe das Problem gelöst, indem ich den Halter mithilfe eine dünnen Brettchens zum bei Bedarf einlegen, aufgedoppelt habe. So habe ich Scheiben, die dünn sind. Allerdings immer nur die erste - Nachschieben ist dann halt PflichtDas funktionier auch gut, gerade und zuverlässig.Die Sache mit der Krümellade ist natürlich auch feinZu hoch sollte das Brot auch nicht sein - sonst findet man die Schlitze nicht.Allerdings ist bei mir gleich anfänglich eine der Lamellen ausgebrochen - zum Glück auf der Seite mit dem dicken Einstellungen, die eh niemals benötigen werde. Für die Optik angeleimt und fertig.Wenn es dieses Produkt vielleicht in einer Kombi aus Holz unten und Edelstahl oben geben würde...Denn so als Rumsteherle in der Küche sieht ja nicht wirklich schlecht aus, nimmt nicht zuviel Platz weg und das Brot kann man in einer Tüte ja auch gleich drin liegen lassen.Und es funktioniert ja auch.Und das passgenaue Brettchen zum Einlegen für ganz dünne Scheiben könnte es ja dazu geben...
