If you are at all interested in learning to make sourdough bread I ****HIGHLY**** recommend this book! It demystifies sourdough completely and breaks down the entire process into very easy, very short, simple and quick steps. I've long been a successful home baker of cakes, cookies, pies, but breads eluded me, much to my frustration. I much prefer to eat foods that I've prepared myself, using only whole food ingredients, so I became determined to master this skill. After all, people have been baking bread for hundreds and hundreds of years, it can't be that difficult! Well, thanks to this book, it isn't! Following the directions here I've successfully grown my own starter and baked several loaves of delicious, wholesome bread. It is so exciting to watch your starter come to life and it is an absolute thrill to pull your bread from the oven knowing that you made it! This book is also a pleasure to read. It is informative and easy to understand. Truly, there's no reason to be intimidated by bread or sourdough with this book as your guide. It's literally the best cookbook I own and I have shelves full of them.
