Product was the correct replacement for the ice maker in my Whirlpool GI6FARXXY08 refrigerator.At first, we noticed water dripping from the ice dispenser, then after a couple weeks, it stopped making ice. My son and wife put ice in everything, so I decided to purchase this replacement and take on the repair for the cost of a service call.I ended up having to watch two different YouTube videos to fully understand the replacement. Overall, it was a pretty simple replacement, just need to remove the original and then splice in one wire. It appears the design has changed (hopefully improved) that has some gears on the outside front part of the ice maker. Due to this change, the location to where one of the wires and small plastic bracket shifted. The new bracket comes with this replacement and is the portion that is spliced in.Very happy with the replacement and it’s been working perfectly for the past month or so.
