Love that the handle doesn’t get too hot to holdLOVE this little pot!Very affordable and it definitely whistles -- LOUD. The color is gorgeous and the photos don't do it justice. It's more shiny than matte. It pairs well with my oven gloves, potholders and dish rags (also bought on AMZ) which you can see in one of the photos.I'm a single mom who works 80+ hours/week. I don't have time to go out shopping and when I do the stores are closed! So, I LIVE on Amazon, my shopping sanctuary. No time to troll through stores looking for a perfect purple teapot to match my kitchen decor. This fit the bill wonderfully, and looks and feels much more expensive than it is. Thanks Imperial Home!I don't often give 5-star reviews but this item seems to merit one. It's solid without being too heavy, the color is shiny and even, the insulated handle is a godsend (no more fumbling for an oven mitt just to boil water for tea), and the materials are obviously not cheap.I like green so I ordered the green one. Green seems to baffle a lot of manufacturers, esp. with kitchen items: I can't count the times I've ordered something pictured as metallic green or hunter green only to have it arrive in screaming turquoise or mucus yellow. Happily this green is almost exactly as pictured, if a bit more subdued (which is fine for us).It is beautiful to look at. But it is the 3rd one we are buying. They don't last more than a year or so. The color is just a paint layer, and thin one. It is NOT made of copper, but rather thin metal (aluminum?).Saying that, for the price I would buy a new one every year.I do recommend it.Very nice kettle! I'm a little worried the heavy plastic button in the handle (toggled to open/close the spout) may not hold up, but that's a bridge I'll cross if it ever happens. Looks great, is a good size, and turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.The cover that goes over the middle hole doesn't like to go in very easily, I felt like I was going to break the damn thing getting it in the first time. I don't' see a reason to take it out so its not a big deal. Whistles loudly when boiling, so overall, it works as intended. The design is very cute, color looks nice.I got this to use on the burner after cooking to absorb the heat on an electric stove. I love the purple color and I tested the whistle. If you could leave water in it without worrying about rust, I'd give it another star.3 Stars...It definitely doesn't replace my old one, sadly. But it is OK. The red is more on the burgundy side of red, so if you are looking to match 1950's decor, this won't work. It also sounds like it is boiling the entire time, which is weird, and boils just before it overflows.Edit: Yah, the fact that it makes noise the entire time it is being heated is really annoying. I'll be buying another brand/style.The shape doesn't make sense because it is literally a funnel, pushing noise and bubbles out of the spout. Lowered to One Star. This is the nicest, classiest kettle we have ever owned. The base is exactly as it looks, nice and heavy while the copper is extremely nice. The handle is nice and high and the whistling piece clears out of the way with a button on the bottom of the handle, no scolding fingers here.Definitely recommend..
