This tuna pate with olives is so convenient and easy to use. I love that you don’t need a can opener to open the can. You just pull the tab up, and peel the lid open! Plus, it comes with a convenient plastic lid that you can use to cover the can in case you want to store leftovers. The pate is lightly flavored (a little lighter than I was expecting) with olives and is quite tasty. It’s very easy to spread on your crackers, toast or tortillas. The consistency is very smooth and creamy. It’s very neat with no messy crumbling. This spread is good for a quick snack or easy appetizers. If you’re making dainty tea sandwiches, this would be a simple and tasty filling option, as well.In the past, in order to make a spreadable kind of tuna for my toasts or canapés, I’ve mixed cream cheese in with cans of flavored tuna in oil and it’s been delicious…But this is so much easier and lighter…and I don’t have to worry about going out to buy cream cheese when I want to make a spread! This is the second “tuna pate” that I’ve tried from Rio Mare so far. The first one I tried was the tuna pate with lemon juice, which was absolutely delicious! To be honest, I definitely prefer the refreshing lemon flavour to this olive flavour, but as the lemon has been out of stock for the longest while, this olive flavour works just fine, as well. I would love to get more of the lemon flavour (why didn’t I stock up when I had the chance?), but I’ll certainly buy more of this olive one, as well. These are the only two flavors of tuna pate that I’ve seen from this brand so far, but I’d love to see and try others! I think a spicy Thai chili flavour would be divine!FYI - I’ve been ordering these when I see them on sale for $2.99 per tin.
