Ok, so this comes (predictably) in many small pieces for you to assemble.First, the directions are not good. They're not awful either, but they're not what you'd like to have. That said, a few things that may help you...1. There are 2 types of screws that come with it. Tapping screws (the ones with the sharp pointy ends) and non-tapping (these are flat on the end). Tapping screws for the wood, and the flat ended screws are for the handles. There are 2 identical sets of these handle screws and 1 set sightly shorter. Be advised that the shorter set is the one you use on the silverware drawer. In addition there are 4 washers. These 4 washers are to be used on the inside of each of the glass doors, where the handle attaches. No washers are used, needed or provided for the handle on the silverware drawer. None of this is mentioned in the directions. ALSO put the handles on the doors and drawer first. That should be step one of this assembly.2. Some of the wood pieces were mislabeled. Specifically, in the portion of the box with the drawer, the middle shelf and the bottom self were mislabeled. So don't 100% trust the labels. When assembling be mindful to keep all of the pieces that have grooves cut in them (for the back to slide into) aligned.3. While I think the listing makes it pretty clear that this bread box is a two piece bread box, I don't see where it mentions that the two pieces actually have magnets that hold them together. The grip isn't super strong, but it's nice that it's there.4. Randomly enough this came with some extras...1 set of silverware (butter knife, large fork, small fork, table spoon, teaspoon.) and some wax paper inserts that I assume you are meant to lay in the bottom of each section of the box like shelf liner. The wax paper has writing on it about different kinds of breads etc.5. It stinks. It gave me a headache and so I sat it out on the porch to air out. It smells like varnish or some such thing.6. The glass in the doors, (both doors) has imperfections in it. I'd expect that to hold true across the board so if you going to be fussed by something like that, this isn't for you.So overall, assembly wasn't bad, but we did not use the screwdriver they sent with it. We opted to use an electric drill to go faster BUT in doing so you risk cracking the wood. We did not cause any damage as we were very careful, but the screwdriver is the safer...and slower...method. So if you choose to use the drill like we did, just use care so you don't cause damage. The wood stinks. Air it out, outdoors. Follow the directions but also keep in mind the points I've raised here and you'll do fine. Overall it looks nice, and it'll work. It's not as large as it seems like it will be, but it is a functionally sized breadbox. Our cats are notorious for jumping on our counters and throwing stuff down to our dogs. With this device we are able to keep the bread safe. It's got a handy drawer for other things that used to be on the counter...like the three drink coasters that we have remaining and chip clips. We've had ours for about a month and it still has a bamboo smell inside. Not terrible. But noticeable. It was pretty easy to assemble. An extra set of hands makes it very easy but not hard by yourself. It seems pretty sturdy. The top and bottom are separate sections. There are magnets in the wood to help align the sections but not very strong. Of course, it's not an issue if you don't stack them.Value for the money is good because it would cost more just for the wood to build this.I was so looking forward to receiving this - no more clutter on my kitchen counter.... but it came damaged. The outer box wasn’t damaged and it was inside another box with other items that weren’t damaged. So, as you can see from the pictures - two pieces of the bottom larger section are split right down the middle. For part K the only thing holding it together is the sticker identification. Part L is only being held together by a thin layer of wood. Of course these two pieces are the shelf above the drawer and the top of the larger box - the parts that hold the weight of the unit. The glass in both doors are also cracked and one of the wooden posts was loose in the packaging.Of course the instructions had me start with the top box first so I didn’t realize I had damaged parts until it was half built.I will provide an updated review based on the response I receive from the seller.** UPDATED - I received a prompt reply from the seller who immediately sent a replacement and a return label for the defective item. The replacement was in perfect condition.I originally purchased this as a two piece box to store my vegetables - Onions in the top half with potatoes in the bottom. I quickly changed my mind when I realized that the top half could be separated and it fit perfectly next to my Keurig. Now I use the top half as a storage display for breakfast pastries and the bottom half for my potatoes.Pros: Beautiful, functional, easy to put together and the top half is spacious. It can fit many pastries if you remove them from their plastic containers. I leave mine in the containers and can fit about 2 in it.Cons: The bottom half is a tight space. It fits exactly ONE full sack of 5lb potatoes or 3-4 bags of mini potatoes. The plexi-glass on the top half has some minor scuffs.Overall this is exactly what we wanted. The only thing I wish was that the top attached, versus sitting on top of the bottom. It uses magnets and it moves around when you open it. I would suggest the manufacturer provide a means for a solid connection for those who don't want to use this as two separate boxes. This product is amazing. My wife bought it and I'm more excited than she is. Putting this thing together was a breeze and the parts all fit nicely and the wood has very good quality. And if you're wondering how it stacks it has magnets which just shot me to the moon with excitement. Additionally it comes WITH a screwdriver which I was able to add to my toolbox of mini screwdrivers as you can never have too many. Additionally my wife loves it and the silverware drawer can be changed from left to right which was awesome. last I didn't even realize it came with silverware but the silverware was actually really nice as if it were from a nice convention from a hotel. Overall I never thought I would be excited about a bread box but by this because you should. "I have spoken"Liked the design and style. Looks great. The alignment of pre drilled holes was very poor and caused cracking during assembly. It’s a great product but my dowels and holes did not line up so I have a fab at the bottom of the box. It’s still functional but disappointing.
